It involves establishing a human settlement on Mars by 2023. You can apply for the job until the end of august and the organizers expect around 500.000 candidates in total. Mars One, the organizers, offer a one-way ticket to Mars. The 'lucky' ones will never be able to return to earth and will have to live out their lives on the Red Planet. A reality TV-show based on the selection process will be used to acquire a large part of the $6 billion needed to realize the voyage. Can we apply for others who are most deserving to go .. the entire Bush family, the Clintons, Obama, the federal reserve families, bankers, and most of our elected officials. Maybe they could attach a tow line to the ship and drag some bus loads of Earth's most undesirables.
