Hmmmm.. While I applaud the pioneering spirit of these first people, I don't know if I'd want it to be a one way trip.. or even trust the scientists to know how to fix things from Earth!! OH Lord, they are going to make it into a Reality TV show!! Even if they figure out a stable life support and deal with cosmic radiation etc, what about the long term effects of living in a lower gravity environment? Then again.. what if the Wright brothers had said ..."Fly like a bird? Are you crazy?"... The Netherlands-based nonprofit Mars One is planning to fly teams of four astronauts to the Red Planet, with the first landing slated to occur in 2023, exactly 10 years from today (April 22), to establish a human settlement on our planetary neighbor. Today, the organization opened up its astronaut selection process, which it hopes will raise some of the funding for the project. Those over age 18 interested in spending the rest of their lives in space can apply by submitting applications and short videos to the Mars One site. There is no maximum age for applicants, nor a required technical background or even nationality or language — astronaut candidates will have a few years to learn English if they don't speak it already. There are so many jerks here..now we are going millions of miles away with them..NOT! Until man/woman get more spiritually aware..no thanks! They are not even aware of the beings that are on Mars that they cannot see..another dimension! So let them go there and trash that beautiful planet?
There are inhabitants on Mars and always has been. There is also a community of Earth humans who are having a very difficult time of it and cannot return. NASA is much more advanced then the world population knows. At least 40 years ahead of what we are permitted to see.
